Envision This:
A room painted in white. Glorious white walls for all to see filled with light. Filled with sun. Filled with joy. Inside this room is a person and as you peek closer, there isn’t even a door. It has been unhinged and removed.
There is one thing though…
There is a huge, thick, rusty chain over the door-less entrance.
From afar it seems like this person could easily exit the room. Maybe jump over the chain or crawl underneath it. They aren’t bound by the chain and it doesn’t seem like it even has a grip on them.
They can leave the room and move forward. But for some reason.. there is something holding them back. The thing holding you back is this change. That large chain that seems so easy to simply walk walk over.
But not for this person.
May they are afraid of what could be on the other side, or maybe they just can't believe that it is that easy.Or maybe they are accustomed to the prison in their mind or not used to this new level of freedom. So close to it but so far. Waiting for the ball to drop and for all of it to end.
But wait!
You see another figure.... The only person that could come in and quickly unhinge the chain and take it off is standing right in front of them.
It is Jesus. He is kneeling down and holding them and covering them....
You see, there are moments in life when we have battled and we have fought, not realizing that the battle has already been fought and the war has already been won. We are set free and are filled with His light and His love. But for some reason, due to circumstances and due to life, somehow, we hold ourselves back from embracing this freedom. We are free. Our shackles are broken and are chains have been shattered.
BUT, there is that one rusty chain over the door-less entrance. The one thing that still hinders. It is so easy to walk over and seems almost effortless to outsiders looking in. However, for you? For you, it is daunting. For you it is scary, for you it seems almost unreal to believe that the wilderness is over. That the tough part has come to end. The pruning at this degree is done. “Could I really be liberated?” you ask yourself as you ponder.
Well dear one, Yes. Yes you are. Walk over that chain. It really is that easy. You have been set free.
John 8:36
So if the Son sets you free, you are truly free.
Today I pray for your heart, for your hope, and for your love. I pray that the Lord continues to reveal to you exactly what it means to be a son and daughter of the most High God. He is for you. He loves you so much more than you can fathom. Your promised land is here. No need to worry or fret. Be strong and courageous for the Lord is with you wherever you GO. Face those new lands with joy and peace and love. He has fortified you. He has strengthened you. You have been broken free from disappointment and hopelessness. Your promised land is here.
Psalm 95 : 1- 7
Come, let’s sing out loud to the Lord! Let’s raise a joyful shout to the rock of our salvation! Let’s come before him with thanks! Let’s shout songs of joy to him! The Lord is a great God, the great king over all other gods. The earth’s depths are in his hands; the mountain heights belong to him; the sea, which he made, is his along with the dry ground, which his own hands formed.
Psalm 96: 1-6
Sing to the Lord a new song! Sing to the Lord, all the earth! Sing to the Lord! Bless his name! Share the news of his saving work every single day! Declare God’s glory among the nations; declare his wondrous works among all people
Because the Lord is great and so worthy of praise. He is awesome beyond all other gods because all the gods of the nations are just idols, but it is the Lord who created heaven!
Greatness and grandeur are in front of him; strength and beauty are in his sanctuary.
