Redemption

So in the story of Ruth…. There are so many different revelations to get out of this so simple and yet so unique story. Here is a recent interpretation I was pondering..

Boaz is a representative of Jesus…. Our redeemer… and Naomi? She is like the image of the Holy Spirit… Ruth follows the Holy Spirit’s leading… forsaking all and leaving it all behind until that grand day when Jesus, her Redeemer returns… full force. How beautiful is that? Where the Holy Spirit went, she followed. Naomi counseled her just like the wonderful Holy Spirit is our comforter and counselor.

John 14:16 NKJV

But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you.

John 14:26 AMP

But the Helper (Comforter, Advocate, Intercessor—Counselor, Strengthener, Standby), the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name [in My place, to represent Me and act on My behalf], He will teach you all things. And He will help you remember everything that I have told you.

Naomi gave her instruction and Ruth listened in the same way we are able to follow the ebbs and flows of the Holy Spirit through God’s word and unction’s.

Ruth 2:2

And Ruth the Moabite said to Naomi, “Let me go to the fields and pick up the leftover grain behind anyone in whose eyes I find favor.”

Naomi said to her, “Go ahead, my daughter.”

Ruth 3:3

Wash, put on perfume, and get dressed in your best clothes. Then go down to the threshing floor, but don’t let him know you are there until he has finished eating and drinking.

The Holy Spirit is always instructing us through God’s word. Our part is to obey and that is exactly what Ruth did.

Ruth 3:5

So Ruth said to her, “I will do everything you say.”

As Ruth obeyed the Holy Spirit, you can see that it led her right to her Redeemer.

Romans 5:5 talks about the Holy Spirit being shed abroad in our hearts through his love and Romans 8:15 references the same Spirit that cries out Abba Father. Whoever are the sons of God are led by His Spirit.

Our inward parts are groaning for our creator until that faithful time where He comes and redeems all for the last time.

Romans 8:22-23

We know that the whole creation has been groaning as in the pains of childbirth right up to the present time. Not only so, but we ourselves, who have the first fruits of the Spirit, groan inwardly as we wait eagerly for our adoption to son ship, the redemption of our bodies.
